The flow was strong, filling up a 1.5L Nalgene in  &lt; 4 seconds. Very cold as well. Taste was clean, fairly smooth, with a hint of iron/rock.<br />
Better than the local stream/surface water you can find in So Cal. </p>
<p>This is a big stop on the PCT for the thirsty and can be quite busy sometimes. 									<content:encoded><![CDATA[<p>Shasta has three public springs. One at McBride Springs Campground, one near Panther Meadow Campground, and one next to Horse Camp on the mountain. All three are amazing.</p>
<p>I believe in Mt Shasta City a public water fountain also has amazing water. Also at Mt Shasta City Park.</p>
