How do I know if a spring is safe to drink from?

Water testing helps assure a spring is safe, however there’s many factors to consider. We need to consider if there’s anything that could potentially contaminate the water table. Some contamination could potentially come from rain, however the earth is a great substrate for filtering and purifying water. Some springs are also primary springs, which means that they are essentially water that has never been on the surface of the planet before.

Be sure to drink as close to the spring head as possible.
