From the seepage spring at 64 High Street, continue up the hill approx. 500 feet. There’s a car pull-off on the same side of the road. Follow the path a short way to the spring. Hard to see from the road.
Visited for the first time today. Easy to spot from the road. Ample space for around 3 cars to park. Water is clear and tastes good. No adverse effects as of yet! Will report back after drinking a small amount.
Drove past again about an hour later and two cars of people were there filling up lots of jugs so I assume many people are using the well and that the water is fine.
I went there today (1-8-2013) and it was flowing smoothly, it was cold and tasted very good. I met a gentleman there who has been getting his water there for 10+ years, and was filling up four one-gallon milk jugs. Highly recommend this place!
i was there recently and the spring was flowing slowly and didn’t seem to taste as well as i remember. has anyone filled up recently? is it flowing well again? how is the taste?
Blessing Spring? Yeah right. My wife and I were blessed with diarrhea and gas.
No but seriously, this water is good, but I made the mistake of collecting water after rainfall. I walked up and checked how the spring was constructed and let me tell you, the well isn’t high enough. The top of the well is level with the ground and soil around. This allows possible contaminants during or after rainfall.
I tried this water for 2 months and it was a good experience except for last week. I’m sure yall will be fine as long as you don’t collect if it rained a day or 2 beforehand.

My husband and I filled 4 large vessels of water from this spring on 8/31/2020. I am nervous about drinking the water due to there not being any water testing information but we have been drinking it and feel okay. Does anyone have any information on the water quality or testing?
Hi Timshel – I think just a flathead screwdriver to tighten the connectors, but also a lot of strength and maybe 2 people to push the peice back together tightly.
I’m a little unsure on the bacteria test. It showed a lot of bacteria but only seemed to be one type. I am thinking it could be good bacteria…? I may send into lab which will give more specific results. You can view here. http://www.prolabinc.com/instructions/bacteria.html
There’s got to be 100 or more colonies on the petri dish, but all seem to be the same type.
Kevin, thanks for the up date. I plan on going in the next couple of weeks. What tools would I need to secure the pipe connections if needed. Any results from testing for bacteria and metals? Keep us posted.

I was there yesterday, 12/15, for the first time. I followed the pipe about halfway up the hill to find it separated at one of the connectors but still flowing into the other peice of piping. A large branch had fallen from the big pine tree half way up the hill and caused this. I removed the branch and reconnected the pipe but didn’t have the tools to tighted the connectors and make a strong connection. It improved the flow when I made it back down and was still connected when I left (checked it), but it should be properly repaired to avoid disconnecting again.
Other than that – excellent water and I will be testing for bacteria and metals this weekend and will post!
Stopped by on Sunday, 12/4/2011 and the spring was running strong and clean. You can park on the side of the road where you see a small spot that holds maybe three cars. It’s a short walk up the hill to the spring.
I went to the spring on 9/5/11, flow was strong water was refreshing and cold. I was new to the area and made the mistake of thinking that the spring was located on 64 High Street where a blue PVC pipe is visible from the street (not like the one pictured above). The owner of the house happened outside at the time and directed me to the right location only about 150 feet on the left going up hill. Interesting too is the noticeable destruction to the town from the tornado that pas through.My prayers and thoughts go the the people of the town and elsewhere that were touched but this tragedy.
We went to this spring yesterday and it was flowing really strongly…. very tasty water… don’t have any stats yet in terms of TDS, pH, etc., but I hope to get that soon. 🙂
This spring really IS a true miracle…. I tested the TDS and pH and it came out really awesome… The TDS was right about 14ppm and the pH was around 7.3. Really superb water!
Yes, I traveled to it yesterday and found it not flowing as well. With all the snow, it will be difficult to trace it uphill to its source. I too would be happy to help repair once the snow melts. Ron
This spring is not in working order! Water is no longer flowing from the tube but on the creek bed. Would like to help fix please give me contact info for anyone who is working with this spring. We love this water!

I went to this spring it’s a true blessing when you have no water it’s pretty easy to find thanks to this community of people who have created a marker and yes it’s still there but sadly it’s up for sale I hope whoever ends up buying it still let’s the people collect the water from the spring it’s a true sanctuary for them and when I needed it it was there for me to
i started going there about 3 weeks ago, was a little worried about the safety quality at first but have been drinking it everyday and i will not buy bottled again…love it, delicious, and feel great

Hello, I’ve been getting my water here for the past year on a dedicated basis. I drive here from Enfield, CT every few weeks to fill up. I would like to know if this water has been tested or is being drank by others? I give this to my son and I. We have had no issues but would prefer some testing. Where do I start?? Thank you!

The water flowhad reduced toa little more than a trickle backin December,2013. Upon returning it had stopped. I’m pleased that it isback running at a strong flow.1/31/2013
Just returned from this spring …. good flow coming out of a plastic pipe … Google Maps/Nav spot on with location… water tastes great … TDS= 36; ph=7.1. Plan to make 2 gallons of kombucha with it! My SCOBYs have been struggling with the Berkey filtered tap water … curious to see how much they like this spring.

FindASpring.org is the best resource for locating a spring near you. However, not all springs are on the map. First, check the map to see if there is a spring in your local area. If there is, look at the reviews and comments. Has anyone shared helpful information about flow rate or posted a water test result? Is the spring in a pristine area? Do a bit of research and make sure the spring is safe to drink from. If you have any doubt about the purity, don’t risk it and get a water test, HERE. If you don’t see a spring on the map in your area, there still might be some that aren’t listed yet. First, ask the older generation who have lived in your area a long time if they know. You can also ask people in your community who might already get spring water such as people at a health food store or at a farmers market. Another great option is to view A US forest service map, where many springs have been marked. You can view these maps through the Gaia GPS or All Trails hiking apps on your phone. The map overlay you want is USGS Topo. Not all are easily accessible or ideal for drinking, but some are and it can be a fun adventure to find them. We have found over half a dozen great springs this way.
Once you’ve found your spring, figure out how you are going to gather the water. Is it right on the side of the road and easy to access or do you have to hike to it? We recommend storing spring water in glass instead of plastic to preserve the purity of the water. It is better for the environment, your body, and the water. Even BPA free plastic has toxic chemicals that can leach into water and cause health issues. If you do want to use plastic for safety reasons when filling at the spring, we recommend transferring the water to glass as soon as possible. FindASpring is sponsored by Alive Waters, which offers beautiful reusable glass. They have a 2.5 gallon option, which is a convenient size for carrying that isn’t too heavy. They also sell handles that you can use to transport the jugs even more easily. If you have to hike to access the spring, we recommend putting the water jugs into an extra large backpack to hike the water out with ease. We use Osprey packs that hold 2 jugs each. You can also use a wheelbarrow or even a stroller depending on how easy a walk it is.

When you get to the spring, remember to first give back before you take. Springs are considered sacred in indigenous cultures around the world for their life giving water and also as a connection to the inner earth. A powerful and simple way to give back is to clean up. Is there any trash that needs to be collected? Could you move any dead leaves or sticks to improve the flow rate? Show up in service. Some other wonderful ways to give is with a moment of expressing verbal gratitude, singing songs to the water, offering the water an ethically sourced crystal, a feather, or some other physical gift. Flowers are a popular and beautiful thing to offer, but please be careful to source organic ones as most flowers from the store are sprayed with pesticides and can be toxic to put near a spring. Also, flowers can attract bugs as they decay, so it can be best to offer them to the flowing water directly or a little downstream from the spring head.
When gathering the water, fill the jug as close to the spring head as possible, never gather downstream. Be very careful as wet glass is extremely slippery. Make sure the lid is securely fastened. When transporting the spring water home, the jugs can sometimes slide around the car. Secure them in place or wrap them with towels or something so they don’t crash into each other.
How you store your spring water is essential. It is not pasteurized like spring water from the store, so it will start growing algae if left in direct sunlight. This is good because it means it’s alive! If the water you drink can’t even support the most basic life forms, how do you think it will support your body? Store your water in a cool, dark place such as a dark corner, pantry or closet. The fridge is ideal if you have room. Some people prefer to filter their water through a Berkey filter before drinking, but if the spring is pure, it’s not necessary. We drink our spring water completely unfiltered.
How long the water stays good for depends on how cold a temperature it’s stored at. Spring water is best fresh. We personally do not prefer to drink spring water past 2 weeks old. However, we know other people that will drink it at a month old. It’s great to get in a rhythm where you know how long the water lasts you and put your collection day on the calendar in advance.
I believe that water is calling us to reconnect with her in the deepest way, to gather our own water. Just like our ancestors did. Our ancestors didn’t have fancy water machines. They also didn’t create villages or settle where there was no water. Water was revered as the center of the community and the nodal point around which life could spiral out and take root.

Has anyone checked it for traces of cadmium cyanide spilled in 1989? (ref: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Omega_Metal_Processing). Also, what kind of bacterial contamination was found here?
